Zelda - The Wind Waker Background

The first Zelda game for the Nintendo Gamecube, the Wind Waker was met with mixed reactions. The Wind Waker takes a radical step in a new direction for the art of the game; cel-shaded graphics make their first appearance in the Zelda series. As much of the Wind Waker takes place on a sailboat, heavy emphasis is put on Link's controlling the wind, which he does with the aid of a baton. The Wind Waker was one of a select few games to recieve a perfect score by the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.

Zelda - The Wind Waker Story

As the Wind Waker opens, Link lives in a small village on a small island with his grandmother and sister Aryll. The Wind Waker begins at Link's birthday, which is a bit of a coming of age-- he recieves the familiar green tunic he wears in almost all Zelda Games. Not long after, Link's sister Aryll is capture and Link must set out to save her...
